CASE STUDY: PUBLIC HEALTHCARE

National Microsoft 365 Transformation

Contributing to a national programme that consolidated 23 healthcare organisations and approximately 250,000 users into a single Microsoft 365 tenant and namespace.

Sector
Public Healthcare
Scale
Approximately 250,000 users across 23 organisations
Role
Part of a wider delivery team

The Challenge

Twenty-three separate healthcare organisations, each with their own messaging platforms and source environments, needed to move into one shared Microsoft cloud service without disrupting clinical and operational work.

At this scale, identity, namespace and migration sequencing decisions affect hundreds of thousands of people, so consistency and governance matter as much as the technology.

The Approach

  • Worked within the wider Microsoft delivery team on the consolidation of multiple source environments into a single tenant and namespace.
  • Supported large-scale migration into Exchange Online and the shared Microsoft 365 service, with identity and namespace consolidation planned as part of the overall programme.

The Outcome

Approximately 250,000 users across 23 organisations brought together into a common Microsoft 365 tenant and namespace.

Experience of how governance, coexistence and operational risk need to be managed when change happens at national scale, which now informs work with organisations of every size.
